Teacher Certification & Licensure

Certification and/or licensure are required for teachers working in early education and care centers and in public school preschools. The following websites have information about certification or licensure requirements:

Becoming a Family Child Care Provider

Family Child Care Providers must be licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The first step in the process is to take a 3-hour orientation at Child Care Choices of Boston. Click here for Information and dates for upcoming orientation sessions.

Opening a Child Care Center or Out-of-School Time Program

Child Care Centers and Out-of-School Time Programs must be licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The first step in the process is to attend an orientation at EEC.
