CCCB Training Calendar
Child Care Choices offers a training calendar 3 times per year — fall, winter/spring, and summer. To see our current workshops, click on the link to our training calendar. Registration forms can be downloaded and mailed with payment for workshops.
CCCB Training CalendarCustomized Staff Training
CCCB can provide customized training on a wide variety of topics for your staff meeting, professional day, provider support group or parent meeting. Click on the Custom Training brochure on our resource list for ideas for training, or contact Nancy Witherill, training coordinator witherill@bostonabcd.org to design a staff development plan for your program.
College and Training Programs
Boston has many colleges that provide courses in early care and education. See our Resources section for contact information. The first college course that most people take is Child Growth and Development. This course is often required before taking other college courses in the field.
Learning Works, an ABCD program, offers free training, college coursework, and internships for low income residents interested in entering the child care field. Their current flyer is available in the Resources section.
Classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) are available in many Boston neighborhoods. www.cityofboston.gov/newbostonians

First Aid & CPR Training
Child Care Choices offers CPR and First Aid Training in Spanish only. See our training calendar for more information.
CCCB makes available information about CPR and First Aid in English, through various other organizations and companies.

LST offers CPR and First Aid on most Saturdays throughout the year, at various child care centers across Boston, and gears classes specifically to child care teachers and providers.

Hospitals and Health Centers
Check your local hospital or neighborhood health center for classes. Be sure that you sign up for a class covering infant and child CPR & First Aid, and not adult CPR/First Aid.
